Study Chinese at PSU

Intensive Chinese Language Summer Program at PSU
8 weeks for $750. Scholarships Available.

WHEN: Sessions begin on June 20 or June 27 and end on August 12, 2011
Classes meet 2 hours per day, Monday – Friday
WHERE: Portland State University
WHAT: The class will be highly interactive, using a fun situational method of language learning. Students will receive 4 credits for the 8-week course.
WHO: This program is for individuals 15 or older with an interest in learning Chinese. Participants should have no background in Chinese. Students will be expected to spend about 2 hours everyday on self-managed study.
COST: $500 for 4 credits plus a $250 lab fee. Books are about $50.
INSTRUCTORS: The lead teacher will be Prof. Hao-Hsiang Liao from Ohio State University who has taught Chinese at Harvard and Williams College. He will be joined by teacher-trainees of the PSU/ALLEX teacher training program.
SPONSORSHIP: This program is sponsored by the Dept. of World Languages and Literatures at PSU in collaboration with the Alliance for Language Learning and Educational Exchange (ALLEX).

PSU offers other summer intensive languages as well; like Japanese, Spanish, and even Swahili (Which I highly recommend).
